Vestas Power Solutions (VPS) is where new product ideas are developed, matured, improved, and tested. Within VPS you'll find our department, Tower Module, which is part of Aerodynamic & Mechanical area. Our department is developing and maintaining the complete Vestas tower program. The tasks range from business case evaluations to structural engineering including FEM, requirement management, design risk assessment, test planning and project execution and creation of certification documentation.

Our department is accountable for final approval of module requirement, technical quality, risks, and solutions across the value chain and across the various tower sub-modules. The team liaises with the products on module requirement analysis, required performance steps and coordinate feasibility studies.

Focus is on securing cross functional alignment across tower sub-modules and across the full value chain from procurement, manufacturing to transport, installation, and service. Our team is spread in three different locations: Aarhus, Denmark, Porto, Portugal and Chennai, India. You will sit amongst highly motivated people from many areas of the world, who are always willing to help and give support.



Responsibilities
The role as Module Design Owner has great strategic attention with many interfaces across the organization. You will lead the Technical Management team and together you are overall accountable for technical design within module.

  • Develop module strategy incl technology roadmap, module roadmap, needed performance steps and modularization
  • Review and approve scope in module and technology projects (module projects are offshore, onshore, repowering and localization)
  • Continuously be aware and manage technical risks by acting as technical review leader and support mitigations in the sub modules
  • Module requirement management (receive product requirements, alignment of requirements between sub-modules and between modules, approve module requirements)
  • Define certification strategy


Qualifications
To fit well into the position, you should ideally have the following qualifications:

  • Structural Engineering degree (Master, or Ph.D.) or equivalent work experience
  • 10+ years of experience with system engineering and product design and lead positions within product development
  • Hands-on experience with structural design codes and certification of design is an advantage
  • Practical experience with design, standardization from wind turbine, commercial vehicle, heavy duty, automotive, aeronautical or defense industry or similar industries will be preferred
  • Technical leadership skills & technical project management experience
