Vestas Northern and Central Europe is a sales business unit covering Scandinavia, UK, Ireland, Poland, the Baltics, Germany, Benelux as well as Eastern Europe and south of Africa. We are responsible for the Sales function, Project, Installation and Service of wind farms throughout these regions. We aim to be the No. 1 performing business unit within Vestas, and we aim to make Vestas North and Central Europe the best place to work.
The service department of Vestas Finland & Estonia is responsible for the service and maintenance of primarily wind turbines in Finland and Estonia. The primary location for this role will be our headquarters in Vaasa, Finland but we are also interested in hearing about candidates outside the Vaasa area and Finland who are willing to relocate.
Responsibilities
Vestas Service onshore operations in Finland is growing at a rapid speed. In this role you will direct our service operations in Finland and Estonia by building the organisation's capabilities to operate safely, efficiently, and sustainably and meet our customers' expectations. Vestas Service operations cover wind turbine maintenance, operation, and safety in multiple locations across Finland and Estonia. On top of the warehouse locations, the headquarters in Vaasa host multiple supporting functions to service operations.
A professional mindset, to ensure sustainable growth and high-quality performance in the team, is required to achieve goals as a leader in the position. An Area Manager has the responsibility of supervising the performance and reporting of their region.
Furthermore, your responsibilities will include:
Safety of our people and subcontractors
Execution of the company strategy by setting operational and strategic goals for the operational units under your management, assuring quality of reporting and constantly looking for ways to optimise on safety, quality and cost.
Analysis of operational and financial data, making necessary changes and improvements
Budget responsibilities
Ensuring co-worker's high quality working environment
Ensuring efficient ways of working; collaboration, communication, and reporting in the organisation
Qualifications
An ideal candidate for this position has solid managerial skills in leading leaders
Several years of proven people management experience, preferably in leading leaders
Experience from leading a service business particularly within technical or energy business
Customer orientated with good communication skills and the ability to engage people and collaborate
Educational or work background that has provided readiness for working with change management, numbers and problem solving, experience working with budgets
Comfortable with achieving and knowing how to get results through others, skilled in taking the tough discussions to achieve what you expect from your team
Contribute to developing a learning organisation
Competencies
Business Knowledge
Educational or practical background of minimum 10 years that has prepared you for a structured and solution focused way of working,
Ability to operationalise a strategy for your region
Experience and ability to work with budgets and take on economical responsibility
Ability to direct improvements through and define effective business cases
Comfortable in setting directions and expectations within the Vestas quality, safety and cost goals as well as maintaining standards
Collaboration and Communication
Experience of change and performance management
Fluency in written and spoken English, Finnish language fluency is beneficial
IT skills that enable making fact-based decisions and creating effective presentations
Experience with cross-functional collaboration and defining roles and responsibilities
