Job Summary:


Research Associates are expected to handle one major data collection or two minor data collections in a given time period. Each Research Associate functionally reports to the Project Manager that manages the data collection of a given cycle



Responsibilities:


  • Assist project manager with any aspect of management of a research project as needed with ability to share responsibility for assigned project tasks
  • Participate in development and review of specifications for support programming, including survey preprint, data entry, proof-print, data assembly programs, and web-based data entry forms
  • Assist project manager in developing quality assurance procedures; implement and execute quality assurance and data cleansing procedures.
  • Develop, document, and execute database queries and reports for monitoring project progress, data quality assurance, and data extract delivery
  • Supervise data collection workflow and review edited surveys for quality control.
  • Judge data reliability on questionable survey answers and use editorial judgement to use or reject responses
  • Assist project manager with the development and testing of online surveys and provide support for survey respondents.
  • Participate in acceptance testing of database programs and online surveys
  • Assist in coordination and execution of survey distribution
  • Log and track surveys during various stages of a project to aid in the assessment of project status and productivity
  • Clean data in Peterson’s databases in response to queries identified during editing, by error checking processes, or by the project manager
  • Carry out initial and supplementary editing and verifying of various data surveys using standard editing style
  • Gather information omitted from initial survey
  • Provide persistent effort to acquire mandatory data elements and thoroughly document efforts and results
  • Proofread surveys, page proofs, or error reports to ensure accuracy of keyed data and Peterson's databases


Requirements



  • Must have an experience with Research particularly in survey projects
  • Bachelor of Science in Sociology, communications
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Excel and internet savvy (Google)
  • Must have Fiber Optic internet with at least 25 Mbps bandwidth
  • Must have a backup desktop or laptop with the latest OS
  • Must be able to work during US Business Hours
