LALIA is an online language school based in Berlin, whose focus is communicative, proficiency-oriented language learning. We offer interactive live classes for working professionals who live in German-speaking environments. Classes explore topics relevant to day-to-day communication and are taught in small groups.
LALIA is seeking a full-time German program coordinator starting in summer 2023. We are looking for an enthusiastic, proactive colleague whose expertise in proficiency-oriented language pedagogy will allow us to expand and maintain the quality of our growing language program. The proposed hire will both coordinate the German Language Program, work closely with teachers and students and assist in the recruitment of prospective learners. The ideal candidate will have proven records of excellence in teaching as well as evidence of ongoing engagement in the field.
Responsibilities will include training and mentoring of instructors, quality assurance of learning materials and instructional delivery, conducting regular OPI interviews, administrative tasks, development and curation of online classroom activities as well as reporting to the school's directors. The position is remote and will be open until filled.
Native or near-native proficiency in German and English required, experience leading teams of teachers is a plus. Familiarity with ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines will give the candidate a distinctive advantage.
