POSITION OVERVIEW :
Leads the program regarding Construction Logistics & Security at a strategic level to achieve the program's objectives and maintain the values project values.
The Senior Director Manages and motivates the projects Logistics Teams by listening and understanding the challenges each party faces and establishing support and alternative solutions to overcome potential issues. Monitors the program’s logistics & security performance on key areas (planning, interface coordination, risk assessment, risk management, value management) utilizing digital technology where applicable and driving innovation throughout the program. Identifies and grows new opportunities through delivering exceptional service to the client and being aware of other developing opportunities the client may have within the existing commission or new commissions.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :
Develop and implement a scalable and flexible logistics & security strategy to meet the demands of the programme in line with the requirements of project.
Identify and manage team resources in order to fulfil the construction logistics program requirements.
Supervise, and collaborate with, Consultants and Delivery Partners to provide the necessary input to support the Logistics Program.
Deliver a smooth-running, high-performance logistics program through diligent documentation and policy development and implementation.
Solve issues as they arise and recommend courses of action where conflict is realized.
Owner of Logistics Standards, Strategies, Policies, Plans, Processes, Procedures and Best Practice for the Program.
Recommends improvements and implements updates.
Updates standards and procedures where needed.
Ensures performance within allocated budgets.
Participates in review of major proposals and initiatives related to construction logistics.
Monitors quality and progress of construction logistics activities.
Ensures compliance with all laws, regulations and corporate policies applicable to construction logistics.
Audits and facilitates associated corrective actions for construction logistics activities on the program.
Keeps abreast of current technology allied to the logistics function.
Coordinates logistics activity with the project teams.
Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
PREFERRED EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
25 years professional experience with 10 years in major construction logistics management roles preferred, with knowledge of security interfaces. 20+ years of widely diversified experience in the construction of large civil/structural and/or industrial projects at domestic and/or foreign locations is preferred. Degree qualification preferable but not essential; BSc degree in a construction management discipline or equivalent experience.
Requires widely diversified knowledge of construction logistics related processes and industry practices, security experience also preferred. Can demonstrate effective managerial capability on construction projects of comparable scope and complexity. Managerial skills required to manage a team of specialists. Ability to interface between departments and strong knowledge and understanding of Major Programs.
