Star Polisher is looking for Metal Polishers with/without experience to join our growing business in Auckland Region.

  • Polish items as required using appropriate machinery and to appropriate finishes.
  • Train other polishers and workshop staff on jobs when required.
  • Identify areas for improvement and educate staff on new processes.
  • Maintain adequate polishing consumables (mops, grinding stones etc.).
  • Provide guidance to welders on welding profiles required to achieve required finishes.
  • Provide guidance to the team concerning polishing times on jobs.
  • Work with supervisors and managers to ensure necessary resources are available to support the team’s requirements.
  • Undertake polishing and cleaning using acid baths, ensuring only trained staff are operating baths.
  • Check your own work at the end of a job and other polishers’ work on a regular basis to ensure it meets the right standards and finishes.
  • Look for ways to improve polishing in workshop, arranging training with Foreman as required.
  • Work with Foreman to complete final QA on finished products.
  • Ensure stock is stored and used correctly and that wastage is minimized.
  • Ensure tools, plants and machinery are maintained and kept in good working order.
  • Maintain a clean and tidy work area, adhering to the Health and Safety rules.

Experience in the Metal Polishing is desired, however not essential as full training will be provided.

Applicants must be flexible to work long shifts and be available on weekends and on-call if needed.

The rate of pay for this role is $30 to $32 per hour depending on experience.

The role is full-time and permanent.
