Equity Trading Services is seeking a professional who is looking to partner with our business and other internal and external stakeholders to provide market leading business enablement and risk and control services.

Equity Trading Services provides front to back post-execution support to all equity based derivative activity in Europe. The Middle Office team has critical focus on front office day to day risk and trading surveillance, new issuances, client queries, corporate actions processing and strategic firm and business infrastructure projects.
Middle Office acts as first point of contact for the various Equity Derivatives Trading desks, assisting in the execution of both new client and hedging activity. Clients execute trades across a range of product wrappers e.g OTC, Securitised, Synthetic and it is Middle Office’s responsibility to ensure positions are booked and maintained correctly in our risk systems. There is a strong emphasis on knowledge and expertise which requires that all team members are fully versed in products and systems used as well as the processes and procedures that must be followed when performing day to day tasks.

- Risk manager who understands the risks associated with the businesses they support and the teams you work with
- Acts as an advocate for their clients during internal discussions around coverage, resource allocation and process optimization
- Grow with the team; develop a deep understanding of the businesses that are supported, the market landscape that can drive innovation and change, and how you can play a role in the team.
- Work under a high stakes environment that is driven by deadlines, while providing best in class service to our clients and internal stakeholders
- Own the risk front to back and act with the best interest of the firm and clients in mind to resolve risk issues
- Play a more prominent role in the resolution of broad complex issues, with appropriate oversight
- Acts as an advocate for their clients during internal discussions around coverage, resource allocation and process optimization
- Foster a culture of risk management and client service within the team
- Effective problem-solver. Identify process and controls improvements and participate in their development by leveraging knowledge of the trade lifecycle and using constantly evolving tools that can be used to build scalability without introducing new risk
- Act as a Client Relationship Manager, partner with the Sales and Trading desks to offer best in class client service
- Contributes to the effectiveness of the team by working closely with colleagues by sharing information, skills, and responsibilities
- Take responsibility for maintaining timeliness in accordance with market standards and regulatory requirements
SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- 1-2 years’ experience working in a Trade Processing team supporting an Equities business ideal but not required
- Strong Teamwork skills – for working with both internal departments in EMEA and globally
- Track record in the development of client relationships and key stakeholders, both internally and externally
- Ability to gain a strong understanding of the business and work with Prime Brokerage, Marketing, Structuring, Trading and Sales desks
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; ability to provide succinct updates to internal Trading/Sales people
- Ability to thrive under pressure without compromising risk standards
- Strong leadership skills essential – this role will require a self-starter who can manage competing deadlines and can prioritise appropriately
