Job Summary
The incumbent will lead in the execution of activities in the WRAP Project.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Overall responsible for the supervision and provision of technical support in afforestation, reforestation, restoration of degraded forest, and watch and warding of critical forests in the Project districts
- Actively take part in the screening, identification, and selection of afforestation, and reforestation sites and for the community watch and ward in the Project districts
- Provides strategic support to the Team Lead, Provincial Team Lead, and Project officers as appropriate in other project activities
- Assess the role of conservation and sustainable forest management with respect to the main objectives of the forest-specific activities of the project;
- When necessary, undertake field visits to monitor project implementation and provide feedback on the project activities;
- Support the WWF-Pakistan procurement and human resources teams regarding the preparation of contracts, etc;
- Collaborate with relevant stakeholders and project officers for data collection and assessment
- Facilitate technical assistance/support for stakeholders in all relevant areas as appropriate
- Assist in making a technical presentation and documentation of interventions
- Facilitate capacity building, awareness raising, and in other project activities
Selection Criteria
Education, Experience & Working Knowledge
- A minimum Master's degree in the field of Forestry
- At least five years of similar working experience in the implementation of community
Projects
- Knowledge of GIS-based monitoring
- Good at the application of MS Office
Skills and Attributes:
- Excellent English reading, writing, and communication skills
- Physically fit for traveling/trekking in rugged mountain areas
- Familiarity with social, cultural, and geographical contexts
- Demonstrated ability to plan and implementation of project intervention
- Work experience with WWF-Pakistan would be a great asset
- Strong team-player with ability to work in virtual teams;
- High level of good organisational and administrative skills with an ability to work well under pressure;
